Any tour of Ufa will be incomplete if you do not visit the National Museum of the Republic of Bashkortostan. Of all the museums that exist today in the Bashkir capital, the National Museum is considered the largest in terms of the number of exhibits. The museum’s fund currently has about 140 thousand exhibits that tell about the material and spiritual culture of Bashkortostan since ancient times and up to the present. The exposition at the museum includes five departments and 35 exhibition halls.
In the Department of natural history, tourists get acquainted with the most famous and unique natural monuments of Bashkiria, the animal and plant world of the republic, minerals. Of all the exhibits presented in this department, it is worth noting the collection of butterflies and the exposition dedicated to Bashkir bees (as you know, the republic is famous for its extremely delicious and healing honey).
You can see a lot of interesting things if you also visit the Department of Archeology. Unique artifacts are collected here — these are tools, household items from the Stone Age era. By the way, the National Museum of the Republic of Bashkortostan is one of the oldest museums in Russia. It counts its history since 1864.
